Drayton Bird’s Top 20 Business Lessons
Imagine that you’ve been in business for 30 years or longer. As you look back on the good years and bad, what are the key lessons that stick out to you? What are the things that made the difference?
While you may not have been in business for 30 years — or even 10 — there’s one man who’s easily got more business experience than most others in the U.S. or abroad. His name is Drayton Bird.
Drayton has been in the advertising business since the late 1950s. He started an ad agency which he later sold for a nice sum of money. He also worked with David Ogilvy, one of the most renowned men in advertising history.
Ogilvy famously said that Drayton “knows more about direct marketing than anyone in the world.”
The Difference Between David Ogilvy & Drayton Bird
Here’s the difference between Ogilvy and Drayton: Ogilvy is dead and Drayton is living.
This is an important distinction. Drayton is still writing advertising copy every day. He’s still blogging, teaching, and interacting with his students.
Think about that. How many ad men who grew up in the “old world” of print media are still successfully writing ad copy today in the “new world” of digital media?
Not many is my guess.
Which is all the more reason to pay attention to what Drayton is writing about.
“How Even a Business Idiot Like Me Made a Million or Two”
Drayton recently wrote a new ebook called “How Even a Business Idiot Like Me Made a Million or Two.” He ran a special offer on Leap Day. Fortunately, I saw the offer and ordered a copy.
I then printed it out and read it over the weekend. It was excellent. My only disappointment was that it wasn’t longer.
So what does Drayton write about?
Namely, how he got started in business… how he created the largest direct agency in the U.K…. the mistakes he made along the way… and about 20 key points or so about how to be successful in business.
I found it refreshing to hear of his struggles and the lessons he learned along the way. As you read it, I think you’ll find it refreshing, too.
How to Save 37.5% on Drayton’s New Ebook
As Drayton writes on page one, “What you’re about to read won’t make you a billionaire, but I think it is a pretty good guideline for the mistakes to avoid and the things to do if you want to build a business — especially the kind of business which is built on serving other people.”
If you’re in any kind of business (advertising or otherwise), I expect you’ll find Drayton’s business lessons quite helpful.
Unfortunately, his Leap Day special was for 24 hours only. At least one person I know was upset that he missed out.
But here’s good news…
I’ve arranged with Drayton for you to get a copy for just £24.97, which is about $39.55 right now.
So if you’re interested in learning directly from a living advertising legend, I strongly recommend you take advantage of this offer now.

P.S. Most men Drayton’s age are too busy playing golf and drinking with their buddies to be bothered with teaching others. That’s why I recommend you get Drayton’s ebook and learn as much as you can from him while he’s still putting pen to paper.
