Gary Ambrose: Spammer
Many moons ago, when I was still plugged into a few dozen Internet marketing email lists, I came across the name of Gary Ambrose.
Everybody was saying nice things about him… about how he was trustworthy, knew how to make money online, and so on.
So I opted into Gary’s email list to see what he had to say.
I never did get into the habit of reading his emails. They just never resonated with me.
Long story short, I unsubscribed from Gary’s email list.
I didn’t hear anything from Gary for a long time. Maybe a year, give or take.
Then, suddenly, the emails started coming again…
I thought perhaps I hadn’t fully completed the unsubscribe process. Maybe I had to click a confirmation button after clicking the initial unsubscribe button.
So I unsubscribed again, taking extra care to make sure I had unsubscribed properly.
But it still didn’t work. Gary kept sending me emails every single day.
At this point I was getting frustrated. How could I get off Gary’s email list if his unsubscribe process didn’t work?
I went over to Twitter to let Gary know what was happening:
At first I gave Gary the benefit of the doubt. Maybe his email software was broken.
So I sent Gary an email. Then I sent him another tweet:
I bet you can guess where this is going. Gary never responded to my email or my tweets.
That was June of 2012.
It is now one year later and Gary is still sending me daily emails… even though I’ve tried to unsubscribe a half-dozen times or more. (I lost count.)
As a last resort, I began flagging all Gary’s emails as spam. All his daily emails are now in my Gmail spam folder. See for yourself…
I mentioned this whole episode to another online marketer who happened to be on Gary’s list. This person has never been able to unsubscribe from Gary’s list either.
I also found this complaint about Gary on Ripoff Report:
Continues sending emails and has no FUNCTIONAL email OPT-out
It makes me wonder: Why did all those people say such nice things about Gary way back when?
Because it’s fairly clear now… Gary Ambrose is a spammer.
