Why I No Longer Hate Staying in Touch with Clients & Friends

In the fall of 2008, I was frustrated with how I was keeping track of the mailing addresses of my friends and family members, not to mention my growing list of clients.

My wife and I both had addresses written down on bits of paper and in notebooks. And I’d saved a couple client addresses in my Amazon account because I’d sent them gifts.

Around November of each year we’d begin trying to collect all the addresses, remember who moved, add new people to our list, and so on.

Just getting all the addresses sorted out was a big pain in the derriere.

Then we’d buy a couple boxes of Christmas cards and hand-address the envelopes. Sending more than 40 was really tedious.

Not only that, we had a limited quantity of cards. So if we had 43 people on our list, but we’d only purchased 40 cards, we’d have to decide which three people mattered the least to us that year.

Sounds mean, but it’s true. You don’t want to buy another box of 20 cards for those three people and end up having 17 leftover cards.

It’s kind of like the classic hot dog and bun problem. Here in the States they sell hot dogs in packs of eight, buns in packs of six… so you’re always going to have more of one than the other (unless you buy 24 of each, which nobody ever does).

Anyway, because of these frustrations, I finally decided to use a system for sending out cards. That system ended up being Send Out Cards.

Now all my mailing addresses are in one centralized location. When somebody moves, I update their address immediately (not just in November). And I can send out as many cards as I want — no limits and no leftovers!

Back in 2008, the first year I used Send Out Cards, I “splurged” and sent out 45 Christmas cards to my family, friends, and clients.

This year, I’ll be sending at least 184 189 Christmas cards, and possibly more.

If I were doing it all by hand, I simply wouldn’t have the time or patience for it. Hey… I’ve got four little rug rats running around and clients to take care of. Time is precious! :-)

But with Send Out Cards, it’s relatively painless.

Anyway, if you’d like to eliminate the frustration of your annual Christmas card routine… and create some new opportunities for staying in touch with friends and clients… then I highly recommend Send Out Cards.

P.S. It takes the same amount of time to send a domestic card with Send Out Cards as it does to send one internationally. Super fast, super easy. All the postage costs are calculated automatically.
